Loving: Skinny & Co. Coconut Oil

Coconut oil has been the it beauty and cooking item this summer and after seeing it everywhere, I decided to give Skinny & Co. coconut oil a try. If you aren't familiar with it's benefits here are a few:

Metabolism - Due to its high concentration of MCFAs, Skinny Coconut Oil speeds up metabolism. MCFAs are immediately converted to energy, helping maintain a healthy weight. 

Brain Clarity  - Coconut oil provides an alternative fuel to glucose for the brain. This fuel, known as ketones improves memory, cognition and attention.

Heart Health - Skinny promotes a healthy cardiovascular system. The healthy saturated fat content has shown to protect heart cells, improve the function of the thyroid and help normalize cholesterol levels. 

Immune System - Found in a mother’s milk, lauric acid also found in coconut oil helps form the immune system and protects the health of newborns. Replacing processed vegetable oils with MCFA-rich coconut oil promotes lifelong healthy immune function. MCFA is found in infant formulas and tube feedings.

Blood Sugar - MCFAs in Skinny Coconut Oil help maintain healthy insulin and blood sugar levels.

I have mainly been using my Skinny coconut oil in two different ways: I add 1 or 2 teaspoons to my morning coffee and reduce the amount of creamer and sugar. It tastes so yummy! I've also been giving Dylan coconut oil massages -  he absolutely loves them! I usually do it after bath time once or twice a week.  It's a great moisturizer and has helped with his baby acne and occasional bum rashes. It even works wonders on my skin! I use it daily.
