Exercise and Pregnancy

When we decided we wanted to have another baby, I knew that I had to get my butt back in shape before even considering getting pregnant. Losing almost 20lbs before getting pregnant was one of the best things I did for my health. Brad and I did a complete lifestyle change and got our lives back - he lost almost 30lbs. I credit my healthy weight and my regular workouts during this pregnancy for a great 9 months. At almost 39 weeks (tomorrow), I'm able to sleep through the night, I have little to no swelling (it was pretty bad with Jack), no heartburn and still tons of energy - even with a 3 year old at home.

I have been attending Space Yoga Studio since I entered my second trimester and ended my prenatal yoga classes last week at 38 weeks. I've also been working out 2-3 times at home with Erica Ziel's Knocked-Up Fitness new book: The Knocked-Up Fitness Guide To Pregnancy.  The book contains helpful tips and over 50 exercises for women like me who want to stay fit and healthy during all stages of pregnancy. The exercises are easy to follow and are divided into trimesters, the book even  includes a "4th trimester" section for post baby workouts. Also included is a handy Q&A section full of helpful tips and advice. 

Knocked-Up Fitness, was created to reach the busy, modern mom with real and relevant topics. It is truly a destination for women who want to stay fit and healthy during all stages of pregnancy, including after the baby is born and through the years that follow.

Post pregnancy, I'm excited to continue my workouts - and my road back to a healthy weight - at the studio as well starting Erica's After Baby pilates-infuesed workouts. These workouts will help me lose the baby weight through safe and effective exercises.
