DIY Project: Tie-Dye Tees for Jack

Remember this tie-dye kit I got at Target on clearance for $2.50? Well, last week we finally got some projects completed.

The kit included everything we needed for our projects with exception of the tees.

- Elastic bands
 - 3 bottles with dye
- 4 pairs of gloves

The process was relatively easy. We prepped our working area, filled the dye bottles with water and selected what styles we wanted to create.

I decided to tie-dye three different kinds of tees: a tank top, a short sleeve tee and a onesie. All were inexpensive purchases from Walmart - less than $3 each.

Once we were done, we covered the tees with a plastic bag to keep them damp while the dye was setting and we let it sit for over 12 hrs. Then we cut the rubber bands and rinsed all of the excess dye. We let it air dry over night and then threw it in the washer with cold water.

Here are the final products...

  1. So cute! It's amazing how much fun and neat tie-dying is. I did it with my students at school and they loved it! Jack looks fantastic in his shirts!

    1. I know! I though it was going to be more complicated but the kit made it really easy :)
