In honor of Pi Day, I'm sharing this delicious French Apple {Pi}e recipe.
FRENCH APPLE PIE
9-inch pie crust
1 lb. cooking apples, peeled, thinly sliced
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 tbsp. flour
1/2 c. pecans
2 tbsp. butter
1/4 c. water
Line 9-inch pie pan with crust. Fill with sliced apples. Sprinkle with lemon juice, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Spread sugar over apples. Combine brown sugar with flour; spread over all. Sprinkle pecans over sugar; dot with butter. Sprinkle on 1/4 cup water.
Top with top crust. Brush top with a little milk. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Let it cool & enjoy with some vanilla ice cream. Yum!
