This is what my sweet baby boy looks like today. A year ago, Brad and I decided we wanted to find the gender of our baby with our family and close friends. On September 1st at 20 weeks I went in for a routine ultrasound that would not only check that my baby was developing properly but if we were lucky it would reveal if we were having a boy or a girl. We left the doctor's office with the envelope below, in it the gender of our baby...
We planned a Gender Reveal Party for September 4th. I designed a simple invite and ask our family and closest friends to join us and cast their votes by wearing either pink or blue.
A friend of mine was the only one who got to look inside the envelop. I had already spoken to the bakery and told them what kind of cake I wanted so all she had to do was call and tell them if the inside should be blue or pink.

Once we cut the cake, the gender of our child would be revealed.
The anticipation was killing me! |
My reaction? Pure shock followed by tears of joy and happiness. This was definitively one of the most special moments of my life and such a wonderful experience to share with our loved ones! I get teary eyed every time I see this picture, even more so now that I have a healthy, happy baby boy.
It was blue! |
Needless to say, this was the sweetest cake I've ever had and
they best party I've ever hosted!
So sweet!
