Well it happened, Jack slept in his big boy bed for the first time this past weekend. His bed arrived Friday and that night Jack insisted on "helping" Brad take his crib apart. He was so excited about his "big cama"!

He went down with no issues, no crying, no waking up in the middle of the night. I stared at the video monitor for what felt like hours but he just slept like a little angel. Saturday morning we had an event to attend early in the morning so we had to wake him up at 7:30am. When Brad and I entered his room, we found him sleeping on the floor - sweet baby!

Nap time was something I was worried about. I felt like if he wasn't ready or didn't want to nap, he would simply get up from his bed and play in his room. Luckily that wasn't the case, he stayed in his bed talking until he fell as sleep. When he woke up the funniest thing happened, he stayed there, didn't get up. He talked for a while and then called me and Brad. It seems like he still thinks that he's in his crib and needs one of us to come get him! The second we walk into his room he jumped of his bed and started playing. He has continued doing this on Sunday morning and after his Sunday nap.
So far the transition has gone smoothly, I was worried that he was not ready but he has clearly shown us that he was.
I'm still waiting for his bedding and accessories to arrive to show you some pictures of his updated room. I haven't really changed much, I simply added a few things to make he's room feel more grown up.
Have you transition your toddler into a big boy/girl room yet? How did it go? What changes besides the bed did you make in the room? I would love to hear your experiences.
