My First Mother's Day Gift - 2011

The day before Mother's Day last year, Brad and I got our first and only {for now} tattoo. I always knew that if I ever got a tattoo it would be the name of my child and at age 30, when Jack was almost 4 months old I did.

It was not nearly as painful as I thought it would be. After you have a baby, you compare all other types of pain to the pain of giving birth - and in my case add a c-section recovery to that. We wanted something simple - Jack's name in a script font in black ink.

"Showing" Jack our new tattoos.

Mother's Day 2011.

Below are some of my favorite shots of our tattoos with our little man from his 1st birthday photo shoot this past January. They capture the essence of our family perfectly. Love + unity.

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there, enjoy your day!

  2. 'mazing! Love the idea, and wouldn't mind getting a tat with my Jacks name. However, I wouldn't be as brave as you to get it somewhere so prominent! Well done.

  4. So sweet! I live that you match! Colin has Daniel's name on his wrist but with my job I couldn't! I want both boys' names and birthdays written somewhere though, maybe on my ribs... Beautiful shots! Xxx
